The North American A-5 Vigilante, also known as the NAA A-5 Vigilante, is a carrier-based supersonic aircraft that was designed and manufactured by North American Aviation from 1956 to 1970. The aircraft could either perform as a nuclear strike bomber or a reconnaissance aircraft, and it was primarily used by the United States Navy for their operations. The A-5 Vigilante has set various world records during its service life, including both long-distance speed and altitude records.
