The AgustaWestland Super Lynx 300 is a variant of the Westland Lynx that is developed by Westland Helicopter and AgustaWestland. Since the debut of the Lynx/Super Lynx in 1978, over 450 units have been produced and went into the service of entities such as the British Army, Royal Navy, and German Navy. The Westland Lynx is a multi-purpose military helicopter, serving for anti-armor, battlefield utility, anti-submarine warfare, and search and rescue operations for a number of users and operators. During the 1990’s, Westland designed the Super Lynx variant which featured BERP rotor blades, Gem 42 engines, under-nose 360 degree radar, electro-optical sensor turret, and a Westland 30-derived tail rotor. The Super Lynx 300 model was another redesign, featuring a new cockpit and avionics.
