Private Single Engine Models - Browse Part Listing

Private aircraft are those that are non-commercial, often used to transport small groups of individuals, or the pilot themselves as the owner. Private single engine aircraft are those that are powered by one engine, and they may range from single seaters to those that can carry a small group of people. There are many types of private single engine aircraft, some popular models including the Cessna 185 Skywagon, Cessna 172 Skyhawk, and the Aviat Husky.

The Cessna 185 Skywagon is a light utility aircraft that was developed by Cessna Aircraft Company over the years between 1961 and 1985. During the years of production, over 4,400 units were manufactured, many still being in service today. The 185 Skywagon is a six-seater aircraft, featuring a high-winged configuration and conventional landing gear. The engine of the Cessna 185 Skywagon is a Continental IO-520-D, allowing for a maximum speed of 155 knots and a travel range of 720 nautical miles.

The 172 Skyhawk is another private single engine aircraft that is designed by Cessna Aircraft and is currently produced by Textron Aviation. Over the production periods of 1956-1986 and 1998-present, over 44,000 units have been produced. Due to its sheer number of production, the Cessna 172 Skyhawk remains the most successful aircraft in history. While variants of the Skyhawk may differ in some aspects, the aircraft can generally accommodate 3 passengers apart from the pilot.

The Husky is a tandem two-seat private single-engine utility aircraft that was designed by Christen Industries and produced by Aviat Aircraft. Since its initial debut in 1987, over 650 units have been produced. There are six versions of the Husky available on the market, each slightly varying from each other with different engines or other components. The Husky is a smaller private aircraft, allowing for a single pilot and one passenger during flight.
