ATA (Air Transport Association) Chapters, also known as the ATA 100 System Codes, refers to the categorization of parts as organized by the Air Transport Association. These numbers will typically be found in any Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) for any civilian aircraft and one category can consist of several subcategories for different parts. As an example, ATA Chapter 22 refers to Air Conditioning, meaning that ATA Chapter 22 parts can fit into any subcategory fitting shut-off valves, fans, rotary actuators, check valves, butterfly valves, skin air valves, cabin pressure valves, regulator valves, rate control valves, ducts, plenum assemblies, syphon assemblies, etc.
Here at ASAP Aerospace, we also categorize our inventory by ATA Chapter Groups. Use our online parts directory and you’ll see that you can search parts by the ATA Group or Chapter number.
