The Spectrum S-33 Independence is a very light jet that is currently being designed and developed by American aviation company Spectrum Aeronautical. The aircraft is said to be constructed utilizing carbon fiber materials, allowing for it to weigh much less than similarly sized aircraft that feature an all aluminum frame. The aircraft first conducted its maiden flight in 2006, and it has been in a development status since 2012. Currently, the aircraft is continuing its path towards receiving FAA and JAA Type Certification.
