The MH-6M Little Bird is a light helicopter originally manufactured by MD Helicopters, designed for use in special operations carried out by the United States Army. The MH-6M in particular is the newest version of the MH-6, both belonging to the same family of helicopters. First introduced in 1980, the MH-6 and its variants have participated in numerous operations over the years, and many units still remain in active service in the present. In general, the MH-6 and its variants are designed for observation, air interdiction, forward air control, and special patrol insertion or extraction.

As compared to the base model, the MD MH-6M Little Bird is a heavily modified version of the MD 530 helicopter, and it is sometimes referred to as the Mission Enhanced Little Bird. For its engine configuration, the MH-6M features a single Allison T63-A-5A turboshaft capable of producing 650 horsepower to travel at a maximum cruise speed of 135 knots. The helicopter also has a fuel tank capacity of 64 gallons, permitting a travel range of 232 nautical miles with an average fuel economy of 4.19 nautical miles per gallon. The cockpit of the MH-6M features Rockwell Collins Avionics, and two crew members are required for piloting the rotorcraft.
